My suggestion: You can't go wrong with a light, shimmery color. They are very forgiving! Just put it all over your eyelid, from right below your eyebrow to right above your lashes. If you want a more dramatic look, take a slightly darker color, put it on a small, sort of puffy brush, and just rub it in the crease of your eyelid from the outside edge to above your pupil. Your eyes will really pop! If you're a beginner with eyeliner, it will take practice! Start with a brown or gray (black only if you have really dark skin) and just outline your eye. Don't outline the inner corner right by your nose- it will make your eyes look close together. And don't try anything too dramatic, it will probably just look silly. And line outside your lashes or you risk eye infection!Where's the best place online to learn how to apply good eye makeup for a complete beginner?

i would go to a store, then you can be sure that you are putting on eyeliner the right way.
Try http://www.VideoJug.com and you should be able to find some videos on it. Also see: http://www.OVGuide.com/education.html for other how-to video sites.

i really think the only way to figure it out is to set aside an evening and practise different ways - i tried to do it the wat they say but i always go back to my own way.....

print some picture of peopel with good eyeliner off or cut them out of magazines and try to copy - see what suits you.....

following directions never works cos eveyones face is different.
I used to work for Clinique. And on there website they have a section where you can ask the experts just click on ';Miss Clinique'; and you chose a eye shape, lip shape, face shape. What colours to use. what skin care you should use ect... It is really helpful. It helps you know how to make the best of what you have.

Hope this helps.
Try this one, very good and useful website, not only for make up, also scin csre, hair and nails, body and more
