I'm sick and tired of the black eyeliner/eyehadow smokey eye look because everyyyyyyyyyone seems to be wearing some form of it from schoolgirls, to middle age mums to celebs.. I want something different.
What do you recommened? Atm I just apply some silvery gloss on my eyelids and mascara because everyones eyes jsut look that same!
Any ideas? Are there any other alternatives to the smokey eye makeup look?
There are several looks you can go for, depending on how dramatic you are willing to go! Here are just a few that my previous clients have requested:
1. Natural colours, if done dramatically, can have a huge impact. Think browns and dusy colours. Highlight the inner eye lid with a shimmering tone to really make your eyes pop.
2. Try doing pastel or muted pale tones with black gel eyeliner flicked at the end. Rim your bottom lid with white eyeliner. It's a very japanese look and it's always in fashion. Grab a slanted thin brush to make sure your eyeliner goes on perfectly.
3. Colour gradients are my personal fave if you have the skin and fashion to pull them off. Choose three bold colours next to each other on the colour wheel that suit your skin well (I like to use yellow, orange and pink). Blend from the lightest colour on the inner eye, medium colour on the main lid to the darkest colour on the outer eye. Rim the bottom of your eyes with the darkest colour too, and try some coloured mascara to finish the look.
4. Harsh lines can suit certain eyes, but it takes a lot of playing around to get the right shape for you. Take any of your favorite colours and mix with a small amount of water (do this on only half of the eyeshadow because it will ruin its ability to be picked up by brushes when dry). Mix until you see a paste on the end of your brush. Use this to paint a cats eye shape around your eye. If you don't want to ruin your eyeshadows, grab a gel based eyeliner or a cream eyeshadow with GOOD staying power.
5. Dual tones are also a great way to go if you like your eyes to stand out. Use one colour on your top lid and an opposite colour on the bottom. Green and pink, blue and orange, black a silver or black and gold are always popular. If you want to tone it down, skin tones and browns on top with a dusty blue on the bottom look beautiful and safe enough to wear to work. Are there any other alternatives to the smokey eye makeup look?
Here are five different looks to go for:
1. Only neutral eyeshadow and a nice coat of mascara for a natural yet awake look.
2. You can just apply black eyeliner (or any color) to your waterline and use mascara, only applying a neutral eyeshadow all over you lid (off-white, for example).
3. Or you can get the cat look by applying eyeliner on your lids.
4. You can also apply only one color (light purple, silver, baby blue, whatever) on your whole lid and some mascara...
5.You can apply color around your whole eye (baby blue, gold brown, etc.), just don't make it too thick!
well
you could do the smokey look with any range of colors availabe too you
it looks realy good in blue but stay away from blue if you have blue eyes
any looks are in right now so experiement, just be clear of these rules and get your own look
-NEVER USE THE SAME EYESHADOW AS YOU EYE COLOUR
it will drain your eyes and yes that does include a darkblue with blue eyes jsut dont do it
-generally green, purple, silver and black compliment blue eyes
-generally blue, purple, gold and brown compliment green eyes
-generally black, pale pink, green, orange and gold are good for brown eyes, being careful with the orange
-gold makes bags appear less dark
-always highlight your brow bone it will open up your eyes so much
-white suits anyone
good luck finding the new look! hope i helped xx
i like the dramatic color ideas. you can just wet a skinny lip liner brush then dip it in a platelet of a glittery color eyeshadow that isnt dark or pale, but viberante colors are the best. you use that as eyeliner. then you add a shade the lightest shade of that color that you have and put that all over the lid and smooth it out to make it look okay under the brow. then add a medium shade on the lid alone.
sorry i know that was not the most helpful example but i tried. lol.
鈾モ櫏鈾ope i helped
There are so many things you can do to spice up your makeup! Cut creases and winged liner are huge right now. Check out these pages for ideas:

you could do a smokey purple eye, you don't always have to use black and grays/silvers. you could do any color.
